Bio-stimulator Injections
Bio-stimulator injections, or collagen-stimulating injections, are a cosmetic treatment used to enhance skin texture, elasticity and general skin quality by stimulating collagen and elastin production. Collagen provides structure and elastin provides elasticity to the skin. As we age, our body produces less and less. Bio-stimulator injections improve overall skin quality, fine lines, and sagging skin Typically providing results for several years.
What are Bio-stimulators?
Bio-stimulators are made of either biodegradable, biocompatible polymers (PLLA) or a biodegradable calcium mineral (CaHa). Bio-stimulating injections are semi-permanent and non-dissolvable but do biodegrade over time. Highlander Dermatology uses the bio-stimulators Sculptra (PLLA) and Radiesse (CaHa).
How is it done?
Sculptra (PLLA) and Radiesse(CaHa) are injected in a nearly painless procedure with either a needle or cannula. The number of treatments will vary depending on your age and treatment goals.
These can be used to restore a more youthful appearance to the face, neck, chest or hands.
